Animal Adoption Project

 The “Gato de Bigodes” project is an initiative aimed at connecting people with their future furry friends. Through registration on the site, you have the chance to provide a loving home for dogs and cats every day. Adoption is a moment of happiness, built on partnership, care, and responsibility.

 In this project, the entire adoption process is carried out by NGOs. Gato de Bigodes ensures safety and transparency for partners by validating documents and providing guidance so the adoption process is responsible and secure.

 How does it work? The Gato de Bigodes platform registers independent NGOs, giving dogs and cats a chance to find a home. The entire process is handled by the partners, following guidelines on responsible pet ownership. The animals and the adoption procedures are solely the responsibility of the NGOs, and adopters receive full support during this important moment.

Project Context:

The project addresses the issue of the high number of homeless animals in Brazil, many of whom suffer abuse or are killed. The goal is to find solutions to reduce this problem and improve the quality of life for these defenseless animals by providing them with a new home.

Objective:

The main goal is to encourage responsible adoption by connecting people willing to give love and care to animals that have experienced abandonment and mistreatment.

Justification:

Currently, Brazil has nearly 185,000 abandoned or rescued animals under the care of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and protector groups. Of this total, 96% are dogs and 4% are cats. Many people are unaware of the adoption process or how to care for a pet that has gone through difficult experiences. This project aims to fill that gap by raising awareness and facilitating adoption through NGOs.
